KiKu and our work in Ghana
KiKu – Kinderhaus Kumasi e.V. is a charity organization based in Germany funding a children’s home close to Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana. The home is operated by the Ghanaian NGO KiKu-Kinderhouse Kumasi.
With the children’s home, KiKu takes care of neglected and abused children by providing them shelter, care and education.
Our aim is to give those children the chance to compensate the disadvantages that they’ve experienced due to past neglects and ensure a fair chance to an independent and self-determined life.
The children’s home can accommodate up to 24 children and has started operating after its construction in 2015. Since then KiKu has become a stable partner for the local, regional and state government ensuring that neglected and abused children can feel safe and sound again. Our wonderful staff is dedicated to not only give the children a roof over their head but to build and provide a supportive and engaged home.
One key to achieve this is by ensuring quality education. It is KiKu’s mission to provide each and every child in our home the education that they need and deserve. While paving their way into an independent and successful life with them we ensure that their individual needs and desires are met every step of the way. This also includes access to higher education facilities such as universities or trade schools.
